Education and School Support

 The Health Forum and Community Day addresses the challenges of blighted, crime ridden neighborhoods. Event activities include: a keynote speaker and health panel which educate and receive questions about chronic disease prevention and management. A variety of health screenings are offered inclusive of: dental hygiene, asthma, breast cancer, foot, eye, diabetes, glucose, hypertension and cholesterol. Information about local health, community and social services resources are also provided. Seminars on healthy nutrition are provided followed by a Grocery bag giveaway to the homeless and needy families. A healthy nutritious hot lunch is provided to all in attendance. Additionally, haircuts, school supplies and books bags are provided to school-aged children.  And then there is the fun: Bike safety rodeo, bounce houses, obstacle course, boxing lessons, face painting, clowns and lots of live entertainment
